Quasillina brevis

Description: This sponge consists of a stalked, ovoid body with a single terminal oscule. It is pale yellow in colour and looks like a juvenile specimen of a Polymastia.

Habitat: This is a deep water species only rarely encountered by divers. It has been found recently on flat limestone reefs at 40m off the west coast of Ireland.
