Site Description: The site was located in the north-east corner of an open bay on the south-east coast of Ireland. The seabed at 7.6 m BCD consisted of flat fine sand with Echinocardium cordatum. This gave way to seaward to an area of small boulders and cobbles with red algae and quantities of drift weed.

Subsite: A plain of medium rippled snad with Echinocardium cordatum. details
Subsite Description: A plain of medium rippled sand with brown diatom film. Echinocardium cordatum was frequent and small tellins were occasional. The hermit crab Pagurus bernhardus was common on the surface of the sand.
