| BioMar survey of the Tory Island and Inishtrahull area, Co. Donegal, July 1995 |
Dive number: 950724/01 Date: 24 July 1995
Site Description: The site was located offshore from a north facing headland exposed to moderately strong tidal streams. The seabed at approx. 14.6 m BCD was fairly flat bedrock supporting a sparse park of Laminaria hyperborea. At 16.6 m BCD the seabed dropped away steeply to approx. 20.6 m BCD where it sloped more gently. The cliff had a mixed flora dominated by red algae. Below 20.6 m BCD the rock became dominated by Ophiothrix fragilis. At 29.5 m BCD the rock gave way to cobbley sand still dominated by Ophiothrix fragilis but not surveyed.
