Site Description: The site was located to the east of a large island on the north-west corner of Ireland. The seabed at 28 m BCD consisted of ridges of bedrock, some of which formed rectangular pinnacles. Vertical surfaces were covered with Corynactis viridis. Horizontal surfaces were covered with foliose red and brown algae. The brown alga Carpomitra costata was common on rock near to the surrounding sand. This sand was present in gullies between the rocks.

Subsite: Rugged bedrock, lower infralittoral, sponges and Corynactis viridis. details
Subsite Description: Rugged bedrock with rectangular pinnacles in the lower infralittoral. Corynactis viridis formed 90 % cover on vertical surfaces. Foliose algae including Carpomitra costata were observed on horizontal surfaces.
Subsite: Patches of well sorted sand between rock ridges. details
Subsite Description: Well sorted medium sand in gullies between ridges of rock. Echinocardium flavescens was occasionally observed in the sand.
