Site Description: The site was located on the north coast of an island on the north coast of Ireland. The site was exposed to moderately strong tidal streams. The surveyed area dropped from 29 m BCD down to 35 m BCD; at 35 m the rock gave way to well sorted medium sand. Corynactis viridis was abundant on the rock, forming adjacent patches of different coloured morphs. There were gullies in the rock with abundant Securiflustra securifrons. Securiflustra was also abundant on the rock adjoining the sand.

Subsite: Steep bedrock, lower circalittoral, with Corynactis viridis. details
Subsite Description: Steep lower circalittoral bedrock with moderate tidal streams. The rock faces were covered with Corynactis viridis with Securiflustra securifrons and Flustra foliacea common in the shallow gullies and at the base of the bedrock where it adjoined a sand plain.
