Site Description: The site was located on the north-west side of a small offshore island on the west coast of Ireland. The seabed from 20 m - 33 m BCD consisted of large gullies with overhanging faces. There was a lot of surge in the gullies. Caryophyllia smithii and Corynactis virdis were abundant in habitat 2, whilst Corynactis, Tubularia indivisa and Sagartia elegans were the main cover species in habitat 1.

Subsite Description: Wave surge gully with abundant Tubularia indivisa and Corynactis virdis. Biemna variantia was frequent.
Subsite: Upper circalittoral exposed bedrock with large gullies. details
Subsite Description: Deep wave surge gullies with abundant Caryophyllia smithii and Corynactis virdis. The more overhanging surfaces in the gullies had a variety of sponges, including Dercitus bucklandi and Stelletta grubii.
