Site Description: The site was located at the tip of a headland on the east side of a large north-facing bay on the west coast of Ireland. The seabed from 30 - 40 m BCD consisted of sloping bedrock, with a vertical face to the north. At 40 m BCD there were large blocks of rock lying on the bedrock and embedded in coarse sand. The coarse sand plain extended offshore.

Subsite: Lower circalittoral bedrock with Securiflustra securifrons. details
Subsite Description: Lower circalittoral bedrock and large boulders. The rock was covered with abundant Caryophyllia smithii with Alcyonium glomeratum frequent. A variety of sponges and hydroids, including some scarce species, were present.
Subsite: Coarse sand with Lutraria lutraria. details
Subsite Description: A plain of coarse sand with Lutraria lutraria frequent. Survey was short due to depth.
