Site Description: The site was located at the south-west tip of an offshore island and subject to moderately strong tidal streams on the flood tide. At 18 m BCD there was a plain of pebbles, cobbles and scattered boulders with foliose and filamentous red algae.

Subsite: Lower infralittoral boulders on pebbles with abundant foliose and filamentous red algae. details
Subsite Description: An assortment of large and small boulders and occasional very large boulders on a plain of pebbles and small cobbles. The upper faces of the boulders had abundant foliose and filamentous red algae, especially Heterosiphonia plumosa, Delesseria sanguinea and Acrosorium uncinatum. The hydroid Sertularia argentea was abundant around the bases of the boulders.
