Amara plebeja (Gyllenhal, 1810)

Description: A common 6-8mm long bronze-black Amara. Phytophagous. In most habitats, including gardens, arable land etc.
 

World Distribution: A Eurasian Boreo-temperate species (55) distributed across Europe and into western Siberia.
 

Irish Status: One of the commoner species and widespread.
 

Ecology: Eurytopic and recorded from wetter habitats than other Amara species, including tall vegetation near water, and light woodland.
