A native herbaceous perennial of lake-shores, mainly in the southern half of Northern Ireland. It grows up to 2 - 3 ft (60 - 90 cm) tall, has toothed narrow leaves and small whorls (rings or clusters) of small white flowers around the bases of the upper leaves.
