
A perennial aquatic with hollow stems carrying pinnate leaves with narrow linear leaflets and umbels of white flowers; growing up to about 2½ ft (80 cm). Found in marshes, fens, lakesides, ditches etc., mainly in the Lough Neagh and Erne basins.
Somewhat similar in appearance to Oenanthe lachenalii which is, however, an exclusively coastal species in Northern Ireland.
