Aphanes arvensis sens.str.
(Map updated: March 2008)

Very similar to Aphanes inexspectata. Both are small greenish plants of paths, quarries, hard-packed ground, walls, arable fields etc. The leaves are deeply lobed and the flowers are tiny and green, in clusters which are almost hidden by the leaf stipules. Distinguishing the species requires careful examination of these minute flowers. Both species are frequent.

All names: Aphanes arvensis sens.str. L.; Aphanes arvensis L.; Alchemilla arvensis (L.) Scop.
