An infrequent but widespread native plant of dry heaths, sandy or gravelly banks, rock exposures etc, in non-calcareous situations. It is a creeping plant with oval leaves covered by translucent glands. Flowers are about a third of an inch in diameter and are of typical St. John's wort form.
