
A tall buttercup species with rather small flowers and a distinctive elongated receptacle at the centre of the flower which carries the achenes (single-seeded dry fruits).
Characteristically found beside drainage ditches or muddy ponds, especially in Co. Down and the Lough Neagh basin; less frequent in other areas; mainly in coastal situations in north Co. Londonderry.
