| Summary of site: |
| A short crawl at the bottom of this small shake hole ends at the top of the first pitch. It is 20m deep and passes through brittle, cherty Dartry Limestone. From here a high rift passage steps down into the stream bed. A 14m climb from this level leads to the head of the second pitch and a crawl and further climb into a 30m long white Stalagmite Passage on the line of Peter Bryant’s Hole. The second pitch descends 10m into a chamber with a boulder slope, ending on the lip of the third pitch which is interrupted by two ledges. This pitch ends in an extensive cross-rift which is sumped (completely submerged). There is a blind shaft around 40m deep, that also descends from the rift below the first pitch. | | This pothole is more commonly described in cave literature as Pollthanaclanawley. |
