Mere et al. (1964) Beirne's (1941) records of "Elachista consortella Stt." refer to both Cosmiotes freyerella and C. consortella, which were at that time not recognised as distinct species (see Bradley (1952)) (Bond, 1995).nigrella (Hübner, 1810) homonym.
