InvertebrateIreland Online is a portal site to information about the terrestrial and freshwater invertebrates of Ireland, putting Checklists compiled by acknowledged experts in the Irish fauna online. The information that validates the presence of a species on the Irish list is provided along with lists of the Irish literature relating to the taxonomy, ecology and distribution of the species, where available. Links are made from the species pages to other sources of information about the species or group concerned.

You can access species pages through:

» the relevant checklist, by clicking on "Checklists" in the side navigation. This shows you a list of all the checklists currently available. Choose the group you are interested in and view either the full checklist or the list of families. This will provide you with a list of species names and clicking on any of these links takes you directly to the page for that species.

» the search options available under “Search” in the side navigation. You can search the database for a Specific Name, Genus Name, Full Species Name, Family Name, Common Name, Literature, Location or Irish Status.
