HISTORICAL
PERSPECTIVE: Nathusius' pipistrelle was first discovered to be present in
Northern Ireland in 1996 and the first breeding colony was recorded in 1997.
There are currently four known breeding roosts, making Nathusius' pipistrelle
the rarest of all the bat species present in Northern Ireland.
