HABITAT
& DIET: The viviparous lizard is found in all sorts of dry habitats
favouring sandy or rocky areas. It is well known inland being found in open
woods, heaths and grassland and is a ground-dwelling lizard that only climbs
occasionally. Vivaparous lizards feed in insects and other invertebrates, particularly
spiders and, in damp habitats, worms. The young are fond of aphids.
