This brown, foliose species occurs mostly on twigs and branches of well-lit trees and is characterised by its warty or pimpled surface and frequent discs with a similarly pimpled rim. The layer below the cortex is C-. The underside of the lobes is black. It occurs throughout Ireland but is possibly under-recorded.
