This variety differs from var. undulatum (described elsewhere) in its globose or granular isidia. Records have originated from the Burren, County Clare and the Arran Islands.

Key characteristics

  • Like C. cristatum (described elsewhere) but with three-septate spores, concave lobes and exciple never above the level of the disc
  • On the hard limestones of exposed ridges.
