Poorly known and recorded only from County Fermanagh this wood-inhabiting (lignicolous) lichen is similar to L. albellula (KC-) but tests KC+ yellow. Lecanora saligna is likewise KC-. The species should be looked for on old wooden railings and decorticate tree stumps. Chemical tests are often the most satisfactory way of separating these crusts. The thallus can also be Pd + faint yellow.

Key characteristics

  • Rather like L. albellula (described elsewhere), but thallus KC+ yellow
  • On worked timber: posts, railings, benches.
