Closely related and virtually identical to B. scopulicola (described elsewhere), this species differs in its thinner cracked thallus, never thick and granular. Habitat: sea cliffs, County Kerry; probably under-recorded in Ireland.

Key characteristics

  • Like B. scopulicola but thallus thin and cracked never thick, granular or sorediate
  • Crevices in coastal cliffs.
