This common epiphyte forms small patches of granular-scurvy thallus on smooth-barked twigs and wooden fence railings. The scattered discs are slightly glazed over, yellow to pinkish and with a distinctive yellow crumpled margin. It is not powdery (sorediate). It is widespread in Ireland, but not frequent in the south-east.
