Amara familiaris (Duftschmid, 1812)

Description: 5.5-7.2mm long brassy Amara. Phytophagous. Common in all types of open ground, including gardens and arable land.
 

World Distribution: A Eurosiberian Wide-temperate species (64) spread over most of Europe to north Africa and east across Siberia to Mongolia. Introduced in N. America.
 

Irish Status: Widespread and probably common, especially near coasts.
 

Ecology: Eurytopic on well-drained soils.
