Phlomis fruticosaJerusalem sage

Origin: SW Europe (Western Mediterranean region)

An attractive member of the Mediterranean shrub flora which has been in cultivation in the British Isles since the sixteenth century. It is a vigorous plant producing whorls of bright yellow flowers in profusion in summer. Although its leaves look similar to those of sage, they are unscented and the plant has no culinary value.
