Family: Compositae (Asteraceae) Origin : New Zealand There are well over 40 species of Celmisia in cultivation in Northern Ireland. These are the 'Alpine Daisies' endemic to New Zealand, much beloved of alpine gardeners in Northern Ireland. The flowers are typically daisy-like, almost invariably white, and the leaves are usually heavily silvery-hairy, both above and below. |
