Origin: Chile

An evergreen coniferous tree with dark, glossy leaves and beautiful red flowers like lanterns produced in July. A native of Chile, rather tender in the British Isles, but can be easily cultivated in coastal regions of Northern Ireland.

Male and female cones are produced on separate trees. This is very unusual in the conifers
