Callitriche brutia
(Map updated: March 2008)

A common freshwater species with elliptical floating leaves and linear submerged leaves which have a notch at the apex. It can be confused with Callitriche hamulata but differs in not having the well developed “bicycle spanner” apex to the submerged leaves. Like all Callitriche species it has tiny inconspicuous green flowers and fruits.

All names: Callitriche brutia Petagna; Callitriche pedunculata DC.; Callitriche intermedia ssp. pedunculata (DC.) Clapham
