Epilobium roseum

An alien willowherb which has been frequent since the 1890s as an urban weed in the Greater Belfast area; very rare elsewhere. It reaches 2 feet in height, has unstalked narrow-oval leaves, four raised lines running down the stem, purple-pink flowers with club-shaped stigma. This species is a native of Great Britain but not Northern Ireland.
