An old garden favourite (in origin an artificial hybrid from two South African parents) which has escaped and become totally naturalized in a wide variety of places, especially sea cliffs, roadsides etc. One of its parent species, C. pottsii, which is very similar in appearance, is also occasionally found on roadsides.
