Species Description:
A very common and widespread species of shady places eg woodland, hedge banks and crevices in rock outcrops, ascending to high altitudes in mountains.
All names: Dryopteris dilatata (Hoffm.) A.Gray; Dryopteris austriaca Woynar ex Schinz & Thell. non Jacq.; Dryopteris aristata Druce, non Kuntze; Lastrea dilatata (Hoffm.) C.Presl; Lastrea aristata Britten & Rendle, non T.Moore; Aspidium dilatatum (Hoffm.) Sm.; Nephrodium dilatatum (Hoffm.) Desv.
