Matteuccia struthiopteris

The Ostrich Fern is an introduction into Ireland and Great Britain from Europe. It is grown here in gardens for its large, attractive 'shuttlecocks' of yellow-green leaves, and has become established as a wild plant in the woods around Antrim Bay on Lough Neagh.
