Blechnum cordatum
(Map updated: March 2008)

This introduced species is a large and handsome relative of our native hard fern Blechnum spicant. It was introduced into gardens from South America and persists indefinitely in a semi-wild state at a few suitable sites in gardens and parks, such as Crawfordsburn Glen in Co. Down.

All names: Blechnum cordatum (Desv.) Hieron; Blechnum chilense (Kaulf.) Mett.
