Spiranthes spiralis

Autumn Lady's tresses; Spiranthé d'automne; Herbst-Drehwurz; Schraubenblume

Across Europe from Ireland to Turkey and from the Mediterranean northwards to Denmark.

A small white-flowered orchid; the flowers arranged in an obvious spiral or helix around the stem. Near the coast in short turf and in pine woods; on limestone hills; mainly lowland.
