Orchis ustulata

Burnt orchid; Orchis brűlé; Brand Knabenkraut; Sipho machiettato

Widespread throughout much of Europe, except the far north and far south.

This orchid gets its common names from the dark colour of the unopened flower buds. In grasslands on limey and gravelly soils.
