Near and middle east, including Anatolia and Cyprus.
Probably best regarded as a subspecies of Ophrys sphegodes. In Cyprus it intergrades with O. mammosa
(O. sphegodes subsp. mammosa), and may also not be specifically distinct from O. sintenisii (O. sphegodes subsp. sintenisii).
Found in Garigue and old cultivation terraces.
