Near and middle east, including Anatolia and Cyprus. Probably best regarded as a subspecies of Ophrys sphegodes. In Cyprus it intergrades with O. mammosa
(O. sphegodes subsp. mammosa), and may also not be specifically distinct from O. sintenisii (O. sphegodes subsp. sintenisii).
