Ophrys sphegodes

Early spider orchid; Ophrys araignée; Oiseau-coquet; Spinnenragwurz; Ofride dei ragni

Across southern Europe, from southern England to the Crimea.

Very variable, with a number of subspecies raised to specific rank by some botanists. Frequent in scrub, garigue, maquis, grasslands.
