Ophrys speculum

Mirror orchid; Ophrys miroir; Spiegel Ragwurz

Widespread across southern Europe and the Mediterranean region, from Portugal to Turkey and Lebanon. North Africa.

Grassland, scrub and pine woods.

Characterised by the large shiny blue "mirror" (speculum) occupying most of the central lobe of the lip.
