Ophrys flavomarginata

(Ophrys attica subsp. flavomarginata)

Mount Carmel ophrys; Gelbrandige Ragwurz

Cyprus and the Levant.

Closely related to Ophrys umbilicata and O. attica, and perhaps best regarded as a local subspecies of the O. umbilicata aggregate, which is itself closely related to O. scolopax. It differs from O. attica in having the lower margin of the labellum outspreading and yellowish-green, forming an obvious border. Fairly frequent within its range in pine woods and scrub.
