Widespread throughout the Mediteranean region of Europe and Africa.
Growing up to about a foot (c.30 cm) in height, with a rosette of leaves and a number of sheathing stem leaves. The flowers have an undivided lip with a wavy edge Found mainly on dry calcareous soils in open woodland, garigue and grassy places.
