Summary of site:

In this area there are veins in the granite formed when hot, mineral-rich solutions circulated through the rock after it had solidified. The veins are of quartz and white mica (greisens) and contain epidote, an apple-green mineral (a hydrated calcium aluminosilicate) and also cassiterite, a tin oxide. This is the only known occurrence of cassiterite in Northern Ireland.
