Gold? Silver? Diamonds?

These are all being actively sought in the north of Ireland. Exploration companies currently hold licences to look for gold, lead, zinc, silver, diamonds, brown coal, oil and gas. A gold mine is now being developed.

Many quarries produce sand and gravel aggregate for making bricks and tiles. Water supplies are also taken from boreholes - another use of the resources around us.
