Morning at Belfast Lough Reserve, Harbour Estate, Co.Down (Zoology)
With Anthony McGeehan

Meet 9.00am (best time and light for bird watching) at the Observation room, Belfast Lough Reserve (NGR J 372 777), located within Belfast Harbour Estate (with toilet facilities).

Two main entrances lead into the Harbour Estate and both are signposted from the A2 (Belfast to Holywood) dual carriageway. From the Dee Street entrance, the reserve car park is a further two miles. From the Tillysburn entrance, it is one mile.

We will spend some time in the comfort and centrally heated luxury of the Observation room, viewing the birds on the Harbour Lagoon, many at extremely close quarters. There will be binoculars and telescopes available for us to use. We will also be taken to see the Conservation area and hope to have access to Clare House - another good bird watching viewpoint.

This is a suitable outing for all ages but come equipped with warm clothing and stout footwear.
